In this article we'll walk you through how to set up your loyalty program to increase your returning customer base and the LTV (life-time value) of your customers.

With a loyalty program you can award loyalty points for customer for actions you would like them to take (eg.: placing an order, signing up or following on social media). Your customers can use their points to redeem discounts and rewards you set up in the app.

In this article we'll walk you through on all the loyalty placements we offer and how to set them up.

To provide the perfect experience for your customers we offer 18 blocks to embed the app across the storefront so your customers can actually see your loyalty program. You can extend the following pages:

Cart drawer & page

The cart block lets your customers see their current point balance and redeem their points in the cart.

The block can be activated by turning on the Love Loyalty app embed in the theme editor.

Dedicated Loyalty page

The dedicated loyalty page is a "Landing page" for the loyalty program that you can link to from anywhere on your website, emails and social media.

It consists of 4 app blocks:

Love: Hero Banner - Shows a brief overview of the program and encourages new users to join the program. Logged in customers can see their point balance, the ways to earn and ways to redeem here

Send emails with Klaviyo

Overview

Sync loyalty data like point balance, VIP tiers, paid membership status to Klaviyo so you can use it to build segments, show it in emails and more. Get events in Klaviyo about key loyalty actions like points earned, rewards redeemed and more that you can use to send email & SMS flows.

Recommended emails

Loyalty points earned: Send an email each time a customer earns loyalty points and highlight the rewards they can get. It's a great way to make your customers feel valued and encourage them to make a new purchase
Reward redeemed: Send an email confirming that they redeemed a reward
Point expiry: If you have point expiry set up send a reminder 7-days before the points expire to encourge your customers to make a purchase to prevent loosing their points
Celebrate Birthday: If you have the "Birthday points" earning rule set up you can send an email on the customer's birthday wishing them a happy birthday and highlighting the the points you rewarded them

How to set up?

Navigate to the Integrations > Klaviyo page in the app

Click the "Connect to Klaviyo" button and authorize Love Loyalty to sync data and send events to Klaviyo
Click the "Send test events" button to send test events to Klaviyo so you can start using the events as triggers right away

Overview

You can use Shopify email to send marketing emails related to the loyalty program to grow your returning customer base.

Recommended emails

How to set up?

You can integrate Love Loyalty with Shopify email through our Shopify Flow triggers. You can use these triggers to create a Shopify Flow automation that automatically sends a Shopify marketing email when the triggers happen.

Follow these steps to create a "Loyalty points earned" email automation:

Create the email template in Shopify Email you would like to send when the customer earned points
Create a new Workflow in Shopify Flow

Overview

Shopify Flow is a Free app developed by Shopify that you can use to create automated workflows within Shopify. You can use our loyalty program Shopify Flow triggers to send emails, add tags to loyalty members and more.

Available Shopify Flow triggers

We have 4 Shopify Flow triggers:

Loyalty points earned: Sent when a customer earns loyalty points
Loyalty points redeemed: Sent when the customer redeems a reward
7-day point expiry reminder: Sent 7 days before the customer's loyalty points will expire
7-day birthday reminder: Sent 7 days before the customer's birthday

You can use these triggers to start an automated workflow in Shopify Flow app and perform an action like sending a marketing email or adding a tag to a customer.

Available variables

When creating a workflow you can use variables (like loyalty point balance, points earned etc.) in Conditions and Actions which depend on the trigger you're using.

Loyalty point balance

| Available in every workflow that starts with a trigger related to a customer (eg.: order created, loyalty points earned etc.).

This variable is the number points the customer currently has.

Overview

You can create a dedicated Loyalty Page for your loyalty program to encourage your customers to join the program. You can think about it as a "Landing page" for the loyalty program that you can link from anywhere on your website, emails and social media.

In a nutshell you can create a Loyalty Page the following way:

Create a new loyalty page template in the theme editor
Add the Love loyalty page app blocks to this template
In Online store > Pages create a new page and assign it to the template you created
(Optional) Add the loyalty page to your main menu

Creating the Loyalty page template

Follow these steps to create a new page template for your Loyalty Page:

Open the theme editor
In the top middle navigate to "Pages" and click the "Create template" button

Add a name to your template (this is not going to be visible for your customers)
Save the changes

Add the Love loyalty page app blocks to the template

Once you've created a new page template you need to add the Love Loyalty app blocks to it. We offer 4 app blocks that make up the Loyalty Page:
